Job Description:
In this role you will be a key player in supporting transfer pricing controversy and compliance matters and additionally on other India tax compliance.
Transfer Pricing Controversy:
Assists with India transfer pricing audits and inquiries, audit defense strategies, and drafting and coordinating responses to tax authorities.
Assists with India Advance Pricing Agreement process, including information gathering, drafting and coordinating responses to tax authorities, coordinating with the local consulting firm in completing and submitting APA filings, and coordinating and participating in local site visits by the tax authority.
Transfer Pricing Compliance:
Assists with preparation of quarterly transfer pricing calculations and monitoring of intercompany accounts.
Assists with drafting of tax intercompany agreements.
Assists with transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements, including country by country reporting, master file and local files, and other transfer pricing filings.
Monitor laws for applicability to the business and determine impact of proposed or enacted legislative changes.
Assist business partners with transfer pricing issues and ensure compliance with Nextpower’s global transfer pricing policy.
Monitor business changes and ensure impacts are accounted for in Nextpower’s transfer pricing calculations.
Statutory Compliance:
Assisting in coordinating with tax consultant to timely filing of statutory compliance reports which include Direct and Indirect tax compliance (Monthly and quarterly GST TDS and TCS returns, annual income tax return).
Payment of all the statutory dues as per set timeline.
Timely reconciliation of books with returns and government portals (26AS, GST etc)
Other Tax Controversy:
Assists with India income tax and GST audits and inquiries, audit defense strategies, and drafting and coordinating responses to tax authorities. Drafting and submitting responses to other tax notices.
Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:
A minimum of 8+ years of transfer pricing experience. Experience in a multinational group or of a Big4 required.
Solid technical knowledge of international transfer pricing principles and regulations.
Experience with managing transfer pricing audits and APA proceedings.
Experience in handling India direct and indirect tax compliance.
CA, BA/BS in Business/Accounting or equivalent; Master's Degree in Taxation preferred
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
