About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Systems Operations Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in managing all installed systems and infrastructure within the Systems Operations functional area
- Contribute in increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
- Work with vendors and other technical personnel for problem resolution
- Lead team to meet technical deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
- Collaborate with vendors and other technical personnel to resolve technical issues and achieve highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Datastax Cassandra production support experience
- Linux experience
- experience leading implementations in production
- experience in production monitoring experience including OpsCenter
- experience in technical troubleshooting experience with web applications
- experience in automation at production scale for cluster maintenance, deployments and automation tools including ansible
- experience in scripting experience including Shell or Python
Job Expectations:
- Setup and administer Cassandra production database clusters to support critical web applications
- Maintain high availability and implement changes in large scale multi datacenter clusters with minimal downtime
- Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
- Develop specifications for infrastructure systems needed for Cassandra at production scale, design and test solutions
- Drive solutions for resiliency and to reduce recovery times
- Drive requirements for data backup and restoration
- Design complex system upgrades with minimal downtime
- Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
- Develop alerting and monitoring strategies
- Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
- Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
