itle: QA Automation Engineer
The Group: The IWPT Data Platform team at Morningstar is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated QA Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products, safeguarding the smooth operation of our clients' financial systems.
The Role: As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing test plans and test cases, creating and running automation test scripts, identifying defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our software products meet the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Expertise with test automation tools and frameworks (preferably Selenium or WebDriverIO).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (preferably Java or JavaScript).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop test plans and cases based on project requirements and specifications.
- Strong debugging skills to troubleshoot issues in test scripts and applications.
- Execute manual test cases, identify defects, and meticulously document test results, covering functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Effectively report and track defects, working closely with developers to ensure resolution.
- Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test cases, scripts, and test data.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and collaborate with the automation team to implement automated test scripts.
- Ensure adherence to industry best practices and company standards in all software testing processes.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and resolve issues.
- Use tools such as JIRA and TestRail for test management.
Requirements:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Selenium WebDriver or WebDriverIO.
- Strong experience in Java (for Selenium) or JavaScript (for WebDriverIO) to develop and maintain test scripts.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) for integrating automated tests into the build pipeline.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Proven experience in manual software testing, including test case design and execution.
- Familiarity with software testing methodologies, test design, and defect tracking.
- Experience with testing tools like JIRA and TestRail.
- Basic knowledge of API Testing.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manual software testing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SQL knowledge for data validation and testing (a plus, but not required).
- Experience with API testing to ensure data integrity between systems (a plus, but not required).
