What you’ll do

Architectural Leadership:

  • Define and drive the architecture for large-scale, distributed systems ensuring scalability, security, and resilience.

  • Leverage Microservices design patterns such as Circuit Breaker, Event Sourcing, and CQRS for optimal application performance.

  • Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Clean Architecture principles for robust solution designs.

Cloud-Native Engineering:

  • Design, implement, and optimize cloud-native applications on platforms such as Google Cloud and AWS.

  • Leverage advanced cloud services like BigQuery, Bigtable, and Data Fabric for high-performance data operations.

  • Ensure applications effectively utilize cloud-native features with a focus on cost optimization, reliability, and high availability.

Database and Data Warehousing:

  • Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases for transactional and analytical use cases.

  • Knowledge of modern data warehousing solutions, such as BigQuery or Snowflake, to enable efficient data analytics is a significant plus.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Resolve team challenges, including technical blockers, skill gaps, and interpersonal conflicts, with a proactive approach.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to align deliverables with business goals.

Advanced Software Development:

  • Drive test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), and code reviews to maintain high standards.

  • Optimize performance at both the application and system level, addressing bottlenecks and scalability challenges.

  • Establish and enforce coding guidelines and best practices for enterprise-grade applications.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable business insights.

  • Prepare and present architectural roadmaps, technical documentation, and project status updates with precision and clarity.

Agile and Strategic Planning:

  • Champion Agile methodologies, ensuring smooth sprint planning, delivery, and retrospectives.

  • Apply advanced estimation techniques and dependency mapping for accurate delivery timelines.

What experience you need  

Core Technical Expertise:

  • Expert-level knowledge in Java 17+, Spring Boot 3+, and RESTful API design.

  • Deep understanding of Microservices architecture, distributed systems, and inter-service communication protocols (e.g., gRPC, Kafka, RabbitMQ).

  • Mastery in architectural patterns (e.g., Event-Driven Architecture, Saga Patterns, Strangler Fig).

  • Experience in implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.

  • Hands-on experience with SonarQube for code quality and Fortify on Demand (FoD) for application security analysis is highly desirable.

Database and Big Data Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Experience with Big Data ecosystems, such as BigQuery, Bigtable, Spark, or Hadoop, is a plus.

  • Understanding of data warehousing and Data Fabric platforms for handling enterprise-level data challenges.

Cloud Mastery:

  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud, AWS, or multi-cloud environments, including serverless computing, IAM, and cost governance.

  • Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Soft Skills and Leadership:

  • Exceptional team management, coaching, and mentoring abilities.

  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to build consensus among technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Agile Methodology:

  • Advanced expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) with experience in coaching teams on Agile best practices.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in observability practices, including distributed tracing, metrics, and logging (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

  • Familiarity with security practices such as OAuth2, SSO, and OWASP standards.

  • Exposure to AI/ML workflows and data engineering pipelines in cloud environments.

  • Extensive experience designing and developing microservices using Java, SpringBoot, GCP SDKs, GKE/Kubernetes

  • Active Cloud Certification

  • Experience designing and developing big data processing solutions using Dataflow/Apache Beam, Bigtable, BigQuery, PubSub, GCS, Composer/Airflow, and others.
