The Tax team at Lexington is comprised of 5 dedicated professionals in New York. The primary responsibility of the group is managing the day-to-day accounting of all Lexington management company investments
What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Tax Specialist?
-
Assisting in the review of workpapers for U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns
-
Assisting in the review of foreign tax reporting
-
Assisting in the investor due diligence and onboarding processes
-
Ongoing collection, tracking and monitoring investor forms and data to be used in FATCA and CRS reporting
-
Ongoing collection, tracking and monitoring of tax reporting from underlying investments via Canoe
-
Responding to various IRS, state, and local tax notices
-
Coordinating with external service providers to ensure timely completion of deliverables
-
Communicating and responding to various investor tax requests
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be Successful?
-
Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, or business from an accredited college or university with a strong academic track record

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience at a financial institution or big 4 accounting firm

Experience in U.S. or private equity taxation is preferred

Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Strong work ethic and proactive, positive attitude in a fast-paced environment with enthusiasm for expanding knowledge

Team-oriented, energetic self-starter with ability to collaborate cross-functionally across an organization as well as part of a team

Ability to support multiple projects with tight deadlines
