How you will make an impact
Lead and Deliver Complex Projects
Lead cross‑functional, often global, project teams to successfully deliver medium-to-large projects with moderate business impact, typically at the department or division level.
Manage multiple projects concurrently, each generally spanning 6–12 months, involving teams of 5–10 members.
Partner closely with Program Managers, business leaders, stakeholders, and project team members to define and refine project scope, develop detailed project plans, and establish Work Breakdown Structures using established or newly defined methodologies (e.g., migrations, product and device life cycle, site resiliency, etc.).
Facilitate project planning sessions, providing informed recommendations on timelines, resourcing, risks, and dependencies.
Define and execute effective stakeholder communication plans to ensure alignment, transparency, and sustained organizational support.
Leverage global and regional resources across functions and disciplines to ensure on time delivery of project milestones and outcomes.
Develop project budget forecasts, manage and control approved budgets, and oversee vendor engagements, including review and authorization of payments where applicable.
Demonstrate Project Leadership Excellence
Be recognized within the business or staff unit as a subject‑matter expert in project leadership at the individual project level.
Champion the consistent application of project management processes, standards, and tools across project teams and the wider organization.
Stay current with external trends, tools, and best practices in project and program management, and apply relevant insights to improve project execution and outcomes.
Mentor, Coach, and Build Capability
Serve as a mentor and coach to new project managers, team members, and stakeholders, supporting capability development and adoption of best practices.
Deliver training and knowledge‑sharing sessions on project management methodologies, tools, and governance to both exempt and non‑exempt employees across disciplines.
Provide hands‑on, task‑level guidance to team members as needed, helping resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
Contribute to performance and development discussions where appropriate, recognizing that team members may report into different functions but are aligned through shared project goals.
Represent the organization, as required, in internal or external project management forums or communities of practice.
Apply Functional and Technical Expertise
Maintain sufficient functional or technical expertise to effectively lead projects and leverage internal networks and organizational resources.
Stay informed on industry, technology, and operational trends relevant to assigned projects, and proactively share insights with team members and stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations, quality standards, and organizational policies.
Author, review, and maintain high‑quality project documentation, including status reports, dashboards, presentations, and post‑project reviews.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND 8-12 years of project leadership experience
AND
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
- PMP Certification (active)
- 3-4 years of concurrent Sr. Project Leadership or equivalent experience
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent from an accredited institution
- Agile Certification (ex. SAFe, Scrum, etc.) or equivalent
- Lean Six Sigma Certification or equivalent (ASQ or IASSC)
- Skills include
- Proficient in English and strong communication (written, verbal) skills
- Strong financial acumen, including direct ownership of budget (+$5M)
- Experience in Cloud Migrations, Digital Transformation, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Rationalization type project or programs
