Position Summary
Design, implement and articulate testing strategies, test automation and test engineering technologies. Translates business and technical requirements into test suites, test cases and test scripts. . Establishes and maintains Quality Engineering methodologies, systems, and practices that meet CDK, customer, and regulatory requirements. Utilizes industry best practices and metrics..
Position Responsibilities & Essential function
- Collaborate with Product and Development to understand requirements and translate them into test cases.
- Create software test plans as part of a project team or longer term effort with little oversight
- Develops automation scripts for testing new features, and continual expansion of regression test cases
- Builds and maintains test environments
- Contribute to product level test strategies
- Provide work breakdown and estimates for the activities
- Identify product defects, understand complex problems and recommend solutions. Offer deep defect root cause analysis and root cause solutions
- Proactively communicates any risks, design/quality issues, or need to increase scope/time.
- Thinks ahead by researching ideas that can change or automate existing processes and tools.
- Understands other products of CDK and see how they impact their product.
Qualifications
Preferred:
- Knowledge of Unix / Linux
- Experience of scripting language - Shell /Java/Perl/Python/Ruby.
- Working knowledge of Agile tools like Rally, Version one, JIRA Agile.
- Knowledge of AWS ecosystem or cloud based environments.
Education/Experience
- experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with at least 3 years of programming experience or a Master’s degree
- Proficiency of scripting language - Perl, python, shell, and test automation tools.
- Knowledge of Automate Build deployment, CI/CD processes.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
