We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Our Consumer & Community Banking division serves our Chase customers through a range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing. We are proud to lead the U.S. in credit card sales and deposit growth and have the most-used digital solutions - all while ranking first in customer satisfaction.
Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Develops secure and high-quality production code,
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Strong hands-on software development experience in UI components
  • Self-motivated with passion for technology.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Experience in developing highly scalable micro-services based applications.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas as well as good understanding of the rest.


- Full Stack toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software using multiple design techniques with 8-12 years of experience
- Front end languages - HTML,CSS, Javascript
- Javascript technologies - Angular 11 and above, React, Node etc.
- Java 17 and above,J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, Python programming languages etc.
- Database technologies - Oracle, AWS RDS

  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies and knowledge of SDLC including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in developing and using automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress and Karate
  • Familiarity with development and build tools (or similar): IntelliJ /Eclipse, Maven, Gradle, Sprint Boot, MVC, Spring, Cloud.
  • Experience in Public Cloud such as AWS, Azure etc.
  • Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, application resiliency and security
