As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Take ownership of stability of the application.
  • Implement infrastructure, configuration, and network as code for the applications and platforms .
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
  • Understand service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers.
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Strong skills around production monitoring, infrastructure related knowledge and optimization skills.
  • Experience on building and deploying micro services, monitor application in prod
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) including Java, React, API, Spring boot, Microservices, AWS
  • Strong debugging experience in Core java , Spring Boot, Spring modules, Oracle or PostgreSQL
  • Hands-on experience on Shell / Perl scripting, Python, Ansible and experience in Monitoring tools like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk and Grafana
  • Expertise in tools such as Dynatrace, Grafana, AppDynamics, CI/CD, cloud deployment, Curl and Postman.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies and building and deploying micro services on cloud .
  • Experience on Releases and deployments to production, troubleshooting in production
  • Experience with messaging and integration frameworks like JMS, MQ, Kafka
  • Work with the DevOps tools team to develop and properly use the MicroServices CI & CID pipeline


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies like React, Typescript
  • Exposure to cloud technologies
  • Good to have Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience working with no-SQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra, a plus with Data modeling
