• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science/information systems or equivalent.
• 2+ years of software development experience with either Java or Scala. Familiarity with both is a plus.
• Data structures and messaging technologies are your playground, and frameworks are your tools of choice.
• You're a citizen of the cloud, fluent in RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, SOA, and microservices architectures.
• AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) holds no secrets, and Docker is your trusted sidekick.
• CI/CD is your mantra, with GitLab your preferred language.
• Can write Linux/Unix shell scripts fluently.
• Translating business needs into elegant, consistent software design is your superpower.
• You write clean, reusable, and reliable code because quality is in your DNA.
• Unit testing, performance testing, and building testable code are your hallmarks.

As a Software Engineer II in the Traffic team, you will work self-sustained in an agile team. Traffic services enable the creation of mapping products that are highly available, performant, and near real-time. The Software Engineer will be a contributor on the team to deliver digital traffic data to major automakers, for e.g. BMWs, VWs, Audi, Daimler. You will work on a technology to collect and process road information from many sources, terabytes of data, including car sensors from millions of cars on the road. Our services convert this input into a digital map delivered back to the cars and used for navigation, driver assistance, and even autonomous driving.
