As an Experienced Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Technology team, you serve as member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Depending on the team that you join, you could be developing mobile features that give our customers and clients more control over how they bank with us, strategizing on how big data can make our trading systems quicker, creating the next innovation in payments for merchants, or supporting the integration of our private and public cloud platforms.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in designing and developing scalable and resilient systems using Java or Python to support continual, iterative improvements for product teams.
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Produce or contribute to architecture and design artifacts for applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to continuously improve software applications and systems.
- Identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using these insights to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
- Add to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Gain hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Achieve proficiency in coding with Java or Python languages.
- Develop, debug, and maintain code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Acquire overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Understand agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Gain knowledge of software applications and technical processes within technical disciplines like cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or mobile.
