The Staff Accountant (“Accountant”) assists the GL Accounting team with accounting functions, including journal entries, account/bank reconciliations, fixed asset reporting, and other accounting tasks required in support of the period end close process.
Duties and Responsibilities
People:

- Demonstrate excellent written and oral professional communication skills with keen attention to detailing.
- Communicates and coordinates with Firm stakeholders in Finance and other areas.
Client:
- Supports data requests and provides requested information to support external audits.
Value:
- Collaborates with various departments such as Finance, People Group, IT, Admin, and Operations to understand transactions and process journal entries in Tally and Workday
- Prepares General ledger reconciliation schedules and bank reconciliations on periodical basis
- Processes foreign entity accounting transactions.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to document business transactions and prepare entries to accounts.
- Coordinates, prepares, and provides data to support year end audits like Statutory audit, tax audit, transfer pricing audit and GST audit etc
- Monitors compliance with GAAP and Firm procedures.
- Performs variance analysis and reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial transactions.
- Recommends improvements in accounting processes and systems to promote efficiency and internal control.
- Prepares reports for withholding tax compliance and GST compliance on monthly basis.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Semi Qualified / Qualified Chartered Accountant or master’s degree / Bachelor’s degree in commerce or equivalent in Accounting or Finance from a reputed College / university and four to five years related
experience is must.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate skills in Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research and experience using various ERP accounting systems. Workday Finance experience is a plus.
Certificates and Licenses:
CA or future CA candidate preferred or Master’s degree/Batchelor’s degree from reputed college or University is preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The position is an individual contributor role. It requires limited supervisory responsibilities related to training employees and reviewing word product for accuracy and completeness.
Work Environment:
Standard indoor working environment.
Occasional long periods of sitting while working at computer.
Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm, clients, and interface with external vendors as necessary.
