In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
- Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
- Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
- Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals
- 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines on GCP for batch and near-real-time processing.
- Build and manage data lakes using Dataplex and BigQuery and ETL tools Abiniito.
- Develop scalable data processing solutions using Spark and PySpark and AbInitio.
- Implement workflow orchestration using Cloud Composer (Airflow) and/or AbInitio.
- Optimize SQL queries and data models for performance, cost, and reliability.
- Write and maintain Unix shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, and security using GCP best practices.
- Collaborate with analytics, data science, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and performance tuning.
- Apply GenAI capabilities (LLMs, embeddings, vector stores, prompt engineering) to enhance data processing, analytics, or automation use cases.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote data engineering best practices across the team.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, including:
- BigQuery
- Dataplex
- Cloud Storage
- Cloud Composer (Airflow)
- Proficiency in Spark and PySpark for large-scale data processing.
- Advanced SQL skills for analytics and data transformation.
- Solid experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience with AbInitio (preferred) or equivalent ETL orchestration tools.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and distributed systems.
