Software engineering is the application of engineering to the design, development, implementation, testing and maintenance of software in a systematic method. The roles in this function will cover all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products and services and to understand customer needs and to develop product roadmaps.
These roles include, but are not limited to analysis, design, coding, engineering, testing, debugging, standards, methods, tools analysis, documentation, research and development, maintenance, new development, operations and delivery. With every role in the company, each position has a requirement for building quality into every output. This also includes evaluating new tools, new techniques, strategies; Automation of common tasks; build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency with a passion around technology and solutions and influence of thought and leadership on future capabilities and opportunities to apply technology in new and innovative ways. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Usage of AI Tools like GitHub Copilot, M365
  • Coding & Delivery: Contributes to production code daily with a consistent, sustainable delivery cadence
  • Delivers high quality, maintainable, and reviewable code aligned with team and enterprise standards
• Blast Radius & Ownership
  • Owns and delivers large, complex components with broad system impact
  • Influences data architecture, design patterns, and automation strategy
  • Drives reusability through shared components and common patterns across teams and products
• Problem Definition & Design
  • Designs components aligned with established architectural and integration standards
  • Authors design documents for complex or cross cutting initiatives
  • Delivers scalable, componentized, and loosely coupled solutions
  • Works autonomously while seeking and incorporating feedback
  • Reviews and provides constructive feedback on others' designs
  • Evaluates dependencies, trade offs, cost, impact, and timelines
  • Solves ambiguous and complex problems by translating business needs into technical solutions
• Customer & Business Focus
  • Interprets customer requirements and constraints to ensure solutions meet real business needs
  • Validates designs against intended outcomes and measurable value
• Influence & Mentorship
  • Influences team level technical direction, with impact extending beyond the immediate team
  • Mentors engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and hands on problem solving
  • Acts as a solid technical leader, shaping engineering culture, quality, and standards
  • Seeks guidance from senior engineers and leaders to continuously improve
  • Supports junior and mid level engineers in resolving complex bugs, production issues, and architectural challenges
• Works with less structured, more complex issues
• Serves as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of software development experience in object-oriented design and implementation including design patterns, data structures and test-driven development
• Hands-on experience working in Azure cloud platforms or other cloud platforms
• Experienced in backend development tasks, including working with SQL, Azure Data Factory (ADF), building SQL Agent Jobs, and developing and deploying SSIS packages
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
• Experience delivering software using an Agile/Scrum methodology, SQL development
• Solid experience in database (MS SQL Server) development such as stored procs/views/functions etc.
• Solid experience in automating build processes, application deployments and continuous integration systems
• Knowledge of AI Tools like Github Copilot, M365
• Solid desire to learn about new trends and technologies
• Demonstrated solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to build SQL job, Reports and packages that run on Server
