The Role:

As a Frontend Software Engineer in the Support Team at Outreach, you will build and enhance AI-powered platform user interfaces that empower Outreach’s Technical Support Engineers (TSEs) to deliver excellent customer service at scale.

This role focuses on developing scalable, maintainable frontend applications and
embedded UI components that integrate seamlessly with backend services and external
systems. The ideal candidate is technically strong in modern frontend technologies,
understands user experience fundamentals, and thrives in a collaborative engineering
environment.


About the Team:

The Outreach Technical Support team is a crucial resource that helps customers realize the full potential of the Outreach platform. The team is comprised of deeply technical, customer-obsessed support professionals that answer questions, address challenges and advocate for solutions that improve the Outreach customer experience.

Your Daily Adventure Will Look Like:

  • Develop responsive, scalable web applications using a modern frontend framework (React preferred).
  • Write clean, maintainable code using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Build reusable, modular UI components following component-based architecture.
  • Implement robust state management and efficient data-fetching patterns.
  • Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Optimize application performance, rendering efficiency, and load times.
  • Build frontend components designed for platform environments and embedded use cases.
  • Develop UI modules that can operate within other applications (e.g., iframe embeds, SDK-based integrations, extensions).
  • Handle secure authentication flows (OAuth, token-based authentication).
  • Manage cross-origin communication and contextual data exchange between systems.
  • Ensure secure, lightweight, and reliable integration experiences.
  • Translate product and workflow requirements into intuitive interfaces.
  • Design data-heavy and search-driven UI experiences.
  • Present AI-generated insights in a clear and explainable manner.
  • Focus on usability, accessibility, and consistency across the platform.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and shared ownership of the codebase.
  • Write unit and component-level tests.
  • Follow CI/CD practices and modern frontend development workflows.
  • Work collaboratively with backend engineers and cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive features.
  • Contribute positively.

Our Vision of You:

  • 3–5 years of frontend development experience in production environments.
  • Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience building component-based, scalable web applications.
  • Experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs.
  • Solid understanding of: state management patterns, API data handling, and authentication and authorization flows
  • Familiarity with modern frontend build tools and package managers.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with code reviews and CI/CD.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Experience building platform UI or internal tools.
  • Familiarity with embedded interfaces or frontend integrations within larger ecosystems.
  • Exposure to AI-driven, data-heavy, or search-based applications.
  • Knowledge of frontend performance optimization techniques.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
