The Team: The Web platforms team of S&P Dow Jones Indices is responsible building and maintaining the Web based platforms and tools for our clients and internal users.

What’s in it for you: As the Senior Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to work closely with partners across the company to deliver technology solutions leveraging some of the latest and greatest technology tools and upgrade the platform capabilities and take them to the next level.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience developing great user experiences using modern responsive web technologies such as HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, Node.js, TypeScript, AngularJS and Angular 10+. You can play a pivotal role in helping define our standards and best practices for Angular development. The ability to learn quickly, a passion for picking up new ideas and technologies as well as the communication skills to share these concepts with other team members is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Convert visual design mockups into live HTML pages with required features and functionalities using HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript and jQuery
- Lead the UI team across projects
- Reporting to senior lead, share your daily status along with teams work status
- Writing code, enhance existing functionalities, providing estimates, source control and unit testing
- Collaborate with team to deliver high quality code, participate in design brainstorming sessions, technical design reviews and functional walkthroughs
- Develop code that is modular, scalable, high performance and to high-quality standards
- Provide technical support for customer production issues
- Develop and prototype solutions and proof of concepts, to demonstrate feasibility of innovations to customers
- Strong inter-personal skills, desire to work independently and collaboratively
- Works closely with other developers and QA engineers using Agile software development lifecycle
- Mentor the junior developers and help to resolve any technical issues they are facing to complete their assigned task.
What we’re looking for:
Basic Qualification:
- 6+ years of experience with HTML 5, CSS 3, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS and Angular
- Must have minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, AngularJS and Angular
- Solid understanding in developing responsive sites which are cross-browser and device compatible
- Major plus in an experience integrating with RESTful APIs in front-end
- Nice to have advanced level knowledge of JavaScript, complex JSON, AJAX and Rest APIs
- Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS, etc.)
- Good to have an experience with UI development using TypeScript, Angular and RxJS / NgRx
- Knowledge of the performance and scalability considerations for web applications
- Experience working in AWS technologies is a major plus
- Experience working with source code control systems such as SVN and Git
- Any experience in building financial applications is a plus
Preferred Qualification:
- Working in Agile/Scrum based project delivery
- Experience in the financial services sector preferred but not required
- At least Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. MS in Computer Science is preferred.
- Candidates without Computer Science or Information Technology degree should have significant work experience.
