Role: Java Engineer (Core Services / Platform Engineering)

The Team: Core Services is a global engineering group driving cloud‑native innovation. We build microservice frameworks and platform capabilities that let product teams at S&P Ratings ship resilient, observable, secure services faster. Our internal platform abstracts common concerns—resilience, observability, secrets management, deployments, configuration—so feature teams can focus on business value.

The Impact:
You will help evolve the framework and shared libraries that power mission‑critical ratings and analytics applications. Your contributions reduce duplication, streamline developer workflows, and lower time‑to‑market. By codifying best practices (fault tolerance, metrics, structured logging, security, CI/CD hygiene) you help every engineering squad move faster while maintaining enterprise standards.

Responsibilities:

·       Enhance our search experience with generative and personalization capabilities

·       Contribute to integrating search and AI/ML capabilities (semantic enrichment, relevance, generative augmentation) into the platform.

·       Built Agentic workflows, AI/ML solutions for search and data retrieval.

·       Work on improving and implementing RAG and context engineering.

·       Work with advanced data stores such as Vector stores to improve data retrieval accuracy and be able to optimize storage and retrieval.

·       Design, implement, and enhance Java microservices and shared framework modules.

·       Deliver features improving resilience, observability, configuration, developer experience, and security.

·       Build and maintain event‑driven components and data pipelines using Kafka (producers, consumers, schemas, stream processing).

·       Write clean, testable code; maintain unit/integration tests; participate in and provide constructive code reviews.

·       Partner with internal customer teams: triage issues, refine requirements, improve documentation and onboarding guides.

·       Create focused proof‑of‑concepts evaluating new libraries or approaches; communicate findings.

·       Uphold secure coding, compliance, and performance best practices; contribute to automated quality gates (static analysis, metrics dashboards, CI/CD).

·       Participate in sprint ceremonies and collaborate with product, architecture, and other engineers on design discussions.

What We’re Looking For:

·       Strong foundation in core Java (collections, concurrency fundamentals, streams) and object‑oriented design.

·       Experience building RESTful APIs/services (Spring Boot or similar framework).

·       Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and Git workflows.

·       Working knowledge of testing practices (JUnit/Mockito or similar).

·       Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and basic cloud deployment concepts.

·       Clear, professional communication and collaborative mindset.

·       Experience with Kafka or another event streaming / messaging system.

·       Experience with search technologies (Elasticsearch/OpenSearch/Lucene) or vector/semantic retrieval.

·       Experience integrating AI/ML features (e.g., calling model APIs, embedding generation, ranking).

·       Experience working with Vector stores.

·       Experience working with AI/ML framework such as langchain/langgraph.

·       Observability tooling familiarity (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry concepts, structured logging).

·       CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.).

·       Knowledge of security fundamentals (secrets management, authN/Z patterns).

Grade : 10

Experience Range : 6 to 8 years

Location : Hyderabad

Shift Time : 12 pm to 9 pm IST

Hybrid Model : twice a week work from office.
