We have a fantastic opportunity for a Lead Salesforce Developer to join our Technology Team and play a key role in delivering major transformational change within Customer Servicing. Our purpose is to improve customer and colleague experiences through innovative Salesforce solutions. You will lead development efforts, mentor junior developers, and ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
This role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities. You will remain hands-on with Salesforce development while guiding a team and collaborating with UK stakeholders. The candidate must be willing to work UK shift timings to ensure effective collaboration and support for UK business stakeholders.
Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)
Technical Leadership
- Lead the development of new functionality and enhancements on Salesforce (Service Cloud, Experience Cloud).
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines.
- Review code and provide technical guidance to team members.
Team Management & Mentoring
- Manage and mentor a team of Salesforce developers and QA analysts.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
Solution Delivery
- Translate user stories into technical solutions; ensure acceptance criteria are met.
- Work closely with Product Owners and QA to deliver high-quality releases.
- Take ownership of production issues and ensure resolution within SLAs.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with UK business and technology teams; communicate technical updates clearly.
- Liaise with Salesforce on technical issues and product capabilities.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with Salesforce releases and ecosystem trends; share updates with the team.
- Develop Proof of Concepts for new features and integrations.
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- 5-8 years of Salesforce development experience, including 2+ years in a senior developer role.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- APEX, Apex Test Classes, Visualforce Pages, Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, Flows, Triggers, Custom Objects.
- Experience with Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and AppExchange applications.
- Knowledge of integration patterns (APIs, REST, Web Services) and experience integrating Salesforce with third-party systems.
- Familiarity with Agentforce and AI-driven automation concepts is desirable.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery practices.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current Salesforce certifications required:
- Salesforce Platform Developer I (mandatory)
- Salesforce Platform Developer II (preferred)
- Salesforce Administrator (preferred)
- Service Cloud Consultant (nice to have)
Beneficial Skills & Experience
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Copado, Gearset, AutoRabbit) and version control (GitHub, Bitbucket).
- Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, and telephony integrations (e.g., NICE CXone).
- Exposure to AWS services, MuleSoft, and Tableau.
- Active engagement in the Salesforce ecosystem (Trailhead, user groups, events).
KPIs & Success Metrics
- On-time delivery of high-quality Salesforce solutions.
- Reduction in production incidents and SLA adherence.
- Code quality metrics (unit test coverage, static analysis compliance).
- Team engagement and skill development progress.
- Positive stakeholder feedback and alignment with UK roadmap.
