Job Description:
Crowe is looking to hire a Senior Quality Engineer for our Product Engineering practice. This individual will be part of a product-focused Scrum team working on Crowe Account Confirmations (CAC), an application that enables and supports the documentation and execution of client audits.
The Senior Quality Engineer role works within our Product Engineering team to implement inspection activities to detect problems and ensure the product meets the established quality standards.
This role leads initiatives with little guidance to the definition of done, works with and guides immediate peers, and communicates across the immediate team.
This role will also explore and apply AI-enabled tools to improve test design and automation efficiency —while modeling responsible AI use to enhance quality without compromising reliability or compliance.
• Reviews User Stories and Acceptance Criteria to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
• Designs, develops, maintains functional test cases and ensures all tests are traceable.
• Performs analysis of test cases and functional requirements to determine the balance of test coverage to be automated for reuse.
• Develops and maintains quality strategy for product team.
• Ensures that user expectations are met during the testing process.
• Spend approximately 60% of time on manual testing (functional, regression, and exploratory) while contributing to automation efforts and increasing automation coverage over time.
• Fosters a collaborative relationship with developers to maximize value of testing.
• Identifies any potential quality issues per defined process and escalates any reported potential quality issues to the scrum team.
• Designs and develops automated test scripts using standard automated tools.
• Showcases the value of automation created to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Applies current and new technical skills and understanding required to complete tasks to the definition of done.
• Lead by example in adopting AI-powered tools and expanding automation where possible, continuously identifying opportunities to enhance testing efficiency and quality outcomes.
Qualifications: (Include years of experience):
• Graduation or Post Graduation degree in Computer Science or engineering fields, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software testing experience.
• 2+ years of experience in test automation of test cases and suites.
• Experience programming in C/C++, Java, or another language.
• Experience testing web service and technologies (e.g., REST and JSON, XML, HTTP, Web Server, etc.).
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) paradigm/concept.
• Solid understanding of techniques and approaches for testing test software components/objects.
• Good working experience in minimum of one Automation Tool.
• Experience writing SQL queries and querying relational databases.
