Who you areMetropolis is seeking a Senior Manager to lead one of our Customer Experience application development teams through our next phase of exponential growth. You will help shape the future of Metropolis products, driving strategy to build top-tier customer experiences.

This is a critical role: you will ensure our software directly answers customer needs and accelerates our growth. You'll partner closely with leaders across the organization to conceive and build products that impact the daily experience of millions.

What you'll do- Execute on the multi-year vision and strategy for customer-facing product offerings, working closely with Product Management
- Establish the necessary processes for operational excellence and high system reliability, enabling rapid experimentation and data-informed decisions
- Act as a great coach, consistently bringing out the best in your engineering team
- Be a key driver in hiring top talent and cultivating the culture within Metropolis Engineering
- Foster a collaborative environment where the best product and technical ideas are nurtured and successfully brought to life
- Manage the delivery of powerful high-impact applications like workflows, dashboards, and data visualizations
- Contribute to strengthening a customer-oriented mindset across Metropolis
- 5+ years of management experience and 10+ years of software development experience building customer-centric applications and products
- Experience scaling and supporting teams of 10+ people and building a strong bench of senior individual contributors
- A proven track record of successfully executing initiatives that have a strategic business impact
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions while building customer solutions in both B2C and B2B settings
- Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale distributed systems and software products in high-volume, consumer-facing applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can clearly and concisely present complex technical information to diverse audiences
- Languages + Frameworks: TypeScript, React, Scala (principally), Java (limited)

- Version control: Git & GitHub
- AI Tooling: Copilot on GitHub and Claude Code
