About the role:
Samsara Technologies India Private Limited is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, Security Engineering to manage and grow our global Security Engineering team with a focus on enabling secure enterprise and cloud infrastructure. Your team will be involved in Samsara’s threat detection initiative, secure code training, vulnerability management tooling, and other key programs. You will work closely with the Security Operations team to operationalize efforts sustainably.
Working within the Information Security organization, you will guide efforts around introducing best-of-class security tooling and practices, managing a diverse set of security engineers, and collaborating closely with key stakeholders on security initiatives across the company.
You take security seriously and strive to build low-friction solutions developed in close partnership with others. Above all, your focus is on bringing Security expertise to the table in a collaborative, humble, and practical manner.
This is a hybrid position which requires working hours for EMEA shift in CET time zone and 3 days per week in our Bangalore office and 2 days working remotely. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:
- Manage the Security Engineering organization, focusing on piloting and developing new security solutions to address critical risks.
- Provide technical supervision, career development, and mentoring to team members.
- Stay abreast of the latest security risks and disclosures and ensure Samsara infrastructure is sufficiently protected.
- Collaborate with product teams and corporate engineers to prioritize and integrate larger Samsara security initiatives appropriately in infrastructure.
- Comprehend and baseline our infrastructure security stance.
- Collaborate with security leadership to define strategy, roadmap, OKRs, priorities, and key metrics for the global Security Engineering team.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
- Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Significant (6+ years) experience working in security engineering or enterprise security within the technology sector.
- 4+ years of experience managing security engineers and analysts.
- Motivation and ability to grow talent by providing a proper mentorship and performance management environment while prioritizing empathy.
- Hands-on experience managing complex security efforts with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience working with both physical devices and cloud infrastructure.
