Introduction to team

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, vacation rentals, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and our leading advertising and travel media network.

Make an impact

As part of the Travel Partnerships and Advertising division, the Hotel Partner Solutions team helps protect reliable hotel partner experiences by resolving complex production issues and improving operational performance across critical systems. As a Senior Hotel Partner Solutions Specialist, you will lead high-impact investigations, drive sustainable remediation, and play a key role in strengthening reliability, monitoring, and technical operations across the team. This role is also suited to someone who is comfortable taking ownership during live incidents, including leading SRE bridge calls and participating in weekend on-call support when activated.

In this role, you will

  • Lead investigations into high-impact incidents and recurring operational issues, perform structured root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions.

  • Analyze system behavior, logs, metrics, and data to identify trends, validate hypotheses, and resolve complex production issues in distributed, high-availability environments.

  • Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to implement practical, sustainable solutions that improve reliability, monitoring, and operational performance.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, tool enhancements, and improvements to operational standards, processes, and support resources.

  • Communicate clearly during incidents, escalations, and post-incident reviews, including preparing concise summaries and investigation reports.

  • Act as a subject matter resource and escalation point for junior team members, supporting onboarding, coaching, knowledge sharing, and quality reviews.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in technical discipline or related technical field; or Equivalent related professional experience.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting production or operational environments, with demonstrated experience leading investigations and delivering measurable improvements.

  • You have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to independently resolve complex issues in distributed, high-availability environments.

  • You have experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Kibana, or similar platforms, along with SQL for investigation and data analysis.

  • You bring familiarity with API architectures such as GraphQL, cloud and infrastructure concepts,  SQL literate, and understanding testing principles, and at least one scripting or programming language. 

  • You communicate clearly, adapt detail to your audience, and approach problem-solving with a systems perspective that considers broader operational impact.
