Senior Data Engineer

Senior Data Engineer - Nasuni Hyderabad - 3 Days onsite 

Position Overview 

Nasuni is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics (DNA) team. This role plays a critical part in the reliability, scalability, and evolution of Nasuni’s data platform, which supports reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making across a global B2B SaaS business. 

The Senior Data Engineer operates with high autonomy, owns pipelines end-to-end, and thinks about the data warehouse as a system — balancing correctness, performance, cost, and maintainability. This role requires strong technical judgment and comfort operating in ambiguous environments. 

This role is based in Hyderabad, India, and partners closely with US-based stakeholders and leadership. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Own data pipelines end-to-end, from source systems through downstream consumption and monitoring 

• Design and maintain robust ELT pipelines in Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake with attention to performance, cost, security, and reliability 

• Diagnose and resolve complex pipeline issues independently (schema drift, null propagation, permissions, performance) 

• Define and enforce dbt best practices (sources, tests, documentation, materializations) 

• Evaluate tradeoffs across freshness, cost, complexity, and downstream usability 

• Proactively identify risks and platform gaps and propose solutions 

• Partner with analytics engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to shape data solutions 

• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and design decisions as a thought leader 

• Manage Role-Based Access Control to data across the platform 

• Reason about the data platform as a system, including tradeoffs between performance, cost, freshness, and complexity 

• Proactively identify risks and design gaps and propose improvements before issues impact downstream users 

Required (Must-Have) Qualifications 

• 6–9 years of experience in data engineering or data platform roles 

• Deep hands-on experience with Snowflake, including performance tuning and access control 

• Strong experience building ELT pipelines using Fivetran and dbt Cloud 

• Advanced SQL and strong Python skills 

• Experience working with B2B SaaS data sources (Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, etc.) 

• Strong understanding of analytics-focused data modeling 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience with Workato as an agentic tool 

• Familiarity with data observability or monitoring tools 
• Experience influencing data standards across teams 
• Experience working in a high-growth SaaS Product Environment

• Not a task-only execution role 

• Not a junior or mid-level engineering role 

• Not suitable for engineers who require prescriptive direction
