About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Backed (BE) Developer who will also act as a local senior support to consultants in our  Offshore Hub . The purpose of the role is to work on mobile application development and to support local members of the Backend chapter with the technical aspects of Mobile Application Backend development. The Role will report directly to the Backend Chapter Lead.

🛠 What You’ll Get Your Hands On

Software Development & Delivery

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services in line with technical specifications and established architecture.
• Deliver sprint commitments within agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards.
• Develop new features and enhancements while maintaining existing functionality and resolving defects.
• Collaborate with Frontend and QA teams to ensure seamless integration, testing, and delivery.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Proactively identify technical risks, dependencies, and scope concerns that may impact delivery.

Code Quality & Engineering Excellence

• Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.
• Enforce coding standards, architectural patterns, clean code practices, and consistent implementation.
• Ensure robust error handling, appropriate testing, and maintainable code before merging.
• Identify and prevent technical debt, code inconsistencies, and architectural issues.
• Promote scalable, secure, performant, and maintainable engineering solutions.
• Document technical changes and implementation decisions where required.

Production & Performance

• Monitor application logs, errors, and production issues to ensure service reliability.
• Investigate and resolve production defects and performance issues.
• Proactively optimize application performance, stability, and scalability.
• Ensure technical solutions meet required reliability and security standards.

Technical Collaboration & Leadership

• Propose practical and scalable solutions to technical challenges.
• Challenge designs or implementations that may introduce security, scalability, or maintainability risks.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level developers through technical guidance and code reviews.
• Help resolve technical blockers and share engineering best practices across the team.
• Communicate technical progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery concerns clearly and proactively.

🧙 What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot Reactive, JPA, and Gradle.
• Strong expertise in microservices architecture and scalable backend services.
• Proven experience with REST, GraphQL, and SOAP APIs.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Strong PostgreSQL and relational database experience.
• Advanced Git/GitHub and trunk-based development practices, including PRs, code reviews, rebasing, merging, and conflict resolution.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum, preferably two-week sprint cycles.
• Fintech experience with e-wallets, payments, banking, or multi-country/multi-tenant platforms.
• Understanding API/application security, authentication, authorization, testing, and production reliability.
• Strong hands-on problem-solving, communication, and team collaboration skills.
