The Senior Accountant will manage daily accounting operations in Zoho Books, including bookkeeping, vouchers, bank reconciliations, cash flow, receivables, payables, vendor billing, payroll, and employee payments. The role handles TDS, GST, PF, ESI, and Professional Tax compliance, prepares MIS and accounting reports, maintains financial records, and coordinates with auditors, consultants, tax authorities, project teams, and vendors.

Summary: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining accurate financial records, managing statutory compliance, and ensuring smooth financial operations within the organization. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Zoho Books, taxation, payroll processing, reconciliations, and contractor billing.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Manage complete accounting operations in Zoho Books
- Post and maintain all accounting vouchers including:
- Purchase Vouchers
- Sales Vouchers
- Payment Vouchers
- Receipt Vouchers
- Journal Vouchers
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping for all accounting aspects
- Ensure timely recording and verification of financial transactions Maintain proper documentation and accounting records
Cash & Bank Management
- Maintain and monitor petty cash book
- Perform daily bank reconciliation statements (BRS)
- Track and manage company cash flow
Receivables & Payables
- Monitor aging of debtors and creditors
- Follow up on outstanding receivables
- Coordinate vendor payments and reconciliations
Billing & Vendor Management
- Prepare and verify subcontractor bills
- Coordinate with project and procurement teams for billing approvals
- Maintain vendor accounts and payment schedules
Payroll & Employee Payments
- Process monthly salary disbursements
- Maintain payroll records and employee deductions
- Coordinate statutory salary compliances
Taxation & Compliance
- Calculate and manage TDS deductions
- Handle monthly TDS workings and quarterly TDS filings
- Work on GST input reconciliation and monthly GST filings
- Manage ESI, PF, and Professional Tax (PT) filings
- Ensure timely compliance with all statutory requirements
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare periodic MIS and accounting reports
- Assist management with financial data and analysis
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and tax authorities when required
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com preferred)
- 5–8+ years of accounting experience
- Strong hands-on experience in Zoho Books
- Good knowledge of:
- GST
- TDS
- PF / ESI / PT compliance
- Payroll processing
- Bank reconciliations
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and statutory compliance
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and coordination abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
