Sanofi is modernizing by upgrading its ERP with the latest generation of technologies ERP SAP S4 HANA. The program spanning Global Business Units Specialty Care SC, Vaccines, General Medicines GM, Customer Health Care CHC, is transformational to Sanofi as it enables harmonization of business processes by looking for commonality and value creation at the Enterprise level while driving the Organization through the change. Foundational to efficient operations are the key tenets of harmonized business processes, right sized IT ecosystem and unified data governance. Enabling agility and flexibility will allow improved management of inventory, production, and materials for faster decision-making. Crucial to the program’s success is a strong foundation fostering standardization, harmonization, thinking acting and performing as one Sanofi embracing our Play-to-win principles while enabling our tremendous digital ambitions.

Main Responsibilities: We are looking for an SAP Architect who is passionate about designing and implementing SAP solutions that are integrated and optimized for maximum effectiveness at Sanofi. The SAP Architect will join our Global Functions Architecture Team in Sanofi’s Digital Architecture Center of Excellence reporting to the Global Functions Architecture Manager. The Architect will specify, deploy, and own the SAP ecosystem architecture including, but not limited to Business Process Reference Architecture, Business Application Reference Architecture, Integration Architecture, Hosting Architecture and Data Architecture.

The Architect will contribute to the product roadmap and product strategy definition for SAP ecosystems, staying informed on new components/products available and impact to Sanofi ecosystem. The Architect will be responsible for delivering innovative solutions to meet the operational and technical challenges of businesses while ensuring projects are executed on time and within budget working with the Digital team of architects and subject matter experts. The SAP Architect will support analyzing business requirements, recommending SAP Solutions, documenting key Architectural decision records, ensuring SAP system stability and leverage SAP tools and frameworks.

The Architecture responsibilities of the Architect will include the following:

  • Collect, analyze, evaluate, and summarize Functional and Technical requirements for the solution components, break high-level requirements into details, and distinguish user requests from underlying needs, transforming them to the Architecture Decision Records.
  • Analyze, define, and summarize pros and cons of the SAP application components prior to its implementation.
  • Perform high-level functional and technical architecture, analysis, research and design for the major custom standalone or embedded solutions within SAP ecosystem.
  • In early project phases and along the execution, collaborate with various SAP implementation teams and SAP roll-out and business value projects, including business-enablement, functional and technical.
  • Collaborate with other architects and business analysts to ensure end-to-end process and applications integration and consistency of SAP components with other software/solutions, ensuring coverage of business, digital, statutory, and legal requirements. Work with validated solutions complying to regulatory requirements (GxP, Sarbanes Oxley SOX).
  • Integrate processes and data in application-to-application (A2A) and business-to-business (B2B) scenarios. Integrate various applications and data sources from SAP and non-SAP, on-premise, and cloud.
  • Interface and collaborate with the Digital and Business SAP ERP Teams, i.e., Project managers, Finance, Supply chain, UAM, MDM, Basis, Infrastructure internally and consulting firms & SAP software vendors externally.
  • Perform market research for the SAP application components to cover the business needs and requirements.
  • Continually stay up to date with evolving technologies, developments and trends that shape the organization's digital landscape. Apply knowledge of these trends appropriately to benefit the program and the organization.

Experience and Technical skills:

  • Knowledgeable (8 years +) in SAP Architecture (Hosting, Application processes, Basis, Integration, Product catalog).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of SAP S4/HANA technical architecture including components like the SAP Fiori user interface, SAP HANA database, integration with other systems using SAP Cloud Platform Integration and open connectors to build and deploy scalable and resilient applications.
  • Prior experience working with SAP modules such as SAP PP-PI (Supply Chain), SCI Supply Chain Integration, MM Material Master, WM Warehouse Management, SAP CO (Controlling), SAP PP-PI, QM (Manufacturing & Quality Assurance), F2P Forecast to Planning, P2M Plant to Manufacture, P2R Purchase to Receive, I2O Inbound to Outbound, O2C Order to Cash, O2S Order to Serve, P2MF/P2MQ Plan to Manufacture, P2D Project to Decommission, Finance, Quality and Master Data Management, are nice to have.
  • Knowledgeable in application parameters related to operations and performance.
  • Knowledge of integrating SAP S/4HANA with other SAP and non SAP systems and familiarity with APIs, middleware and migration tools.
  • Understanding of securing SAP S/4HANA landscapes and performance optimization.
  • Experience and working knowledge in complex SAP lifecycle projects, championing harmonization through architecture frameworks and tracking impacts through quantifiable metrics.
  • Experience of projects in international environment. Awareness of pharma industry-specific processes and best practices.
  • A good track record in SAP projects and running complex SAP environments.
  • At ease with Microsoft Office tools, and in general with IS tools.
