The Revenue Accountant will work as part of the Revenue team to record and review revenue on a monthly basis, reconcile revenue related accounts and review contracts and transactions to ensure the appropriate revenue accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP. The Revenue Accountant will also help support audit requests and work closely with the billing and operations teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in the month end accounting close process, including contract analysis, invoicing analysis, preparation and recording of monthly revenue in the General Ledger, and deferred revenue reconciliations and analysis.
- Review monthly customer transaction records, identify performance obligations, and ensure proper revenue recognition for all applicable transactions.
- Support the revenue analysis performed at month end by following up on flux related questions and providing detailed answers.
- Support internal and external audit process including preparing audit schedules, gathering supporting documentation for walkthroughs and testing.
- Partner with business, FP&A, technical accounting, tax, and information systems team to define and deploy systems enhancements and business process improvements to support overall department and company goals.
- Work a portion of the workday during US operating hours (typically 9AM to 5PM EST) during month-end accounting close, to ensure effective communication with US-based accounting team
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of accounting experience
- Prior experience with high volume transactional revenue systems and data analysis preferred
- Experience with revenue and deferred revenue reconciliations and journal entries.
- Self-motivated, deadline oriented, fast-learner, who is a dedicated, hands-on team player with excellent problem-solving skill.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Experience with US GAAP revenue accounting preferred
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, sum-ifs, etc) and other Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organization skills, knows how to multi-task, detail oriented, strong analytical and communication skills
