SUMMARY
The Regional Accountant supports the Finance team members with hands-on experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, month closures, banking, and taxation. The Regional Accountant should be proficient in all aspects of accounting and taxation along with a solid understanding of the financial statements.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains bill register with a record of all supplier invoices along with the process trails and regular updates
- Obtains required documentation from new suppliers and set up supplier accounts in Workday
- Generates purchase orders for suppliers as needed
- Records supplier invoices for both Indian and foreign entities in Workday, including credit card transactions
- Initiates supplier payments through bank portals and record payment transactions
- Manages the payment of statutory dues such as PF, PT, TDS, and GST, including filing returns
- Verifies reimbursements according to company policy and ensure proper accounting
- Coordinates with the bank to resolve any issues with bank portals
- Generates customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables
- Records customer receipts (U.S.) and maintain an accurate accounting record
- Tracks unidentified customer receipts and collaborate with the accounts receivable team for follow-up
- Prepares daily bank reconciliation statements (BRS) for all bank accounts held by the organization
- Accounts for payroll expenses based on input received from the HR department
- Works with the Workday team to automate reports
- Prepares monthly reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts
- Coordinates with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit completion
- Prepares preliminary financial statements
- Supports month-end closing activities
- May perform other duties as assigned by management
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in problem-solving with a solutions-oriented approach
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
- Solid understanding of financial statements and their interpretation
- Working knowledge of Income Tax and GST regulations
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Typically requires Chartered Accountant/Cost accountant or MBA Finance from a reputed institution with 5+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting roles
- Experience in MS office and Workday/SAP preferred
