What You'll Do

• Analyzes and tests software features.
• Continuously re-evaluates the test strategy to adjust for new information, changing risks, and shifting priorities, and schedules.
• Capable of making framework choices, setting directions on technology choices, coming up with solutions and working with management to set the direction.
• Defines, implements, and executes the functional, regression, and acceptance test strategy on highly iterative and collaborative projects of medium to high complexity in an Agile environment.
• Test planning, test automation, test environment setup/teardown, exploratory and manual testing, defect logging and verification.
• Defines, creates, and maintains test data as required. Supports (2nd level) and troubleshoots problems with existing applications.

What You Know

• Overall 5+ years of experience in software testing and test automation
• Experience in testing applications, services, and user interfaces.
• Hands-on experience in test automation and using dynamic languages to maintain fluent and flexible tests that shape and verify software under development.
• Effective at creating repeatable, maintainable, automated test suites.
• Experience with open-source tools/language Java, JRuby, Selenium or equivalent. Familiarity with defect management systems.
• Creates automated test cases in partnership with Developers and Product Managers in an Agile environment.
• Shapes and verifies the nature of the code under test. Hands-on use of open source automation and testing tools including Java, JRuby, Selenium, Cucumber, SQL and NoSQL to automate effective tests of UI and server-side components.
• Should be well versed with validating RESTFull and SOAP APIs. Works collaboratively as part of the development team with product managers, software engineers, and architects to define and execute tests throughout the project lifecycle.

Education

• A bachelor's degree in information technology, software development management, software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
