About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and strategic Program Manager to oversee a complex portfolio of 100+ concurrent customer-facing projects in the Data & Analytics Business Unit. This role demands exceptional communication, leadership and problem-solving skills to ensure successful delivery, alignment with business objectives, and optimal resource utilization. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, providing executive status readouts, managing risks, and driving continuous improvement across the portfolio.
Location: Hyderabad/Bengaluru preferred and Remote/Hybrid
Working Hours : EST Time Zone (5:30 PM to 2:30 AM)
Responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive overview of the entire portfolio, including project status, dependencies, risks, and resource allocation.
- Establish and implement portfolio-level governance, processes, and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Make recommendations and lead selection process for Project Management Methodologies and Tools.
- Improve project intake and assignment process based on strategic priorities, resource availability, and business impact.
- Monitor and report on portfolio performance, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
- Track progress against customer milestones and time to first value targets.
- Identify and address portfolio-level risks and issues, escalating as needed.
- Project Oversight:
- Provide guidance and support to Technical Project Leaders across the portfolio, ensuring adherence to best practices and methodologies.
- Conduct regular project reviews to assess progress, identify potential roadblocks, and ensure quality deliverables.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between project teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
- Ensure projects are delivered within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Track partner performance metrics and provide visibility into status and success of partner-led enablement projects and implementations.
- Implement and maintain project documentation and reporting systems.
- Resource Management:
- Collaborate with Manager and Director of Professional Services to ensure adequate resource allocation across the portfolio.
- Identify and address resource constraints and conflicts.
- Forecast resource needs based on project pipeline and business priorities.
- Optimize resource utilization to maximize efficiency and productivity, including leveraging delivery partners.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, project teams, and executive management.
- Establish weekly stakeholders’ communications to provide updates, raise visibility of risks or concerns, and manage expectations.
- Provide performance data for stakeholder meetings and presentations.
- Act as the voice of the projects to upper management.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the portfolio.
- Develop and implement best practices for project management and portfolio management.
- Promote a culture of disciplined execution and data driven decision making.
- Conduct post-mortem engagement reviews and track corrective actions to closure.
- Analyze data to identify chronic issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Risk Management:
- Establish and maintain a portfolio wide risk management plan that promotes visibility of risks and mitigation plans to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and mitigate risks across all projects within the portfolio.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential risks.
- Change Control:
- Establish formal Change Control process, as part of the overall Project Management Methodology and Toolset.
- Ensure Change Requests are logged with reasons for change, decision makers, impact to project deliverables and acceptance by stakeholders.
- Provide cross-organizational feedback for continuous improvement for common change types.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- Overall experience 12-20 years with Minimum 8+ years of experience in program or portfolio management, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex technology projects.
- Bachelor's degree in software development, engineering, project management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- PMP, PgMP or Prince2 certification required.
- Experience managing software development projects (Data & Analytics preferred)
- Experience managing a large portfolio of concurrent projects (100+ projects preferred).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Experience with customer facing projects.
- Experience in resource management.
