About the Role
  • In depth understanding of UK tax laws, regulations and compliance.
  • Ability to interpret and translate UK tax laws and regulations into requirements that software engineers can understand.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to deal with various stakeholders including our customers, and internal groups such as Sales, Support, Professional Services and Senior Management.
  • Showcase the software to existing and potential customers to highlight its features and benefits.
  • Contribute to the overall vision for the software, and wider business, and develop robust roadmaps to support the vision.
  • This is not a traditional accountancy role preparing tax returns for clients.
  • This role could be ideal for someone currently working as an accountant (preparing UK tax returns) who wishes to switch to the software development industry where they would be responsible for producing tax software that is used by accounting professionals.
About You
  • 3+ years of preparing UK personal tax returns (SA100) for a broad range of clients (various income sources) with appropriate qualifications (e.g., ATT).
  • Preparation of UK partnership (SA800) and trust/estate (SA900) tax returns desirable.
  • Some experience of the software development industry and the methods used (Agile, Scrum etc.) desirable.
