At Fourier, we are making hydrogen universally accessible.
We are building modular, software-defined electrolyzer systems that dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of producing hydrogen where and when it is needed. Our mission requires solving hard engineering problems across hardware, manufacturing, deployment, and operations—and building the systems that allow breakthrough technology to scale into the real world.
We are looking for a Procurement / Supply Chain Manager to build and scale the supply chain foundation that powers that mission.
As Procurement / Supply Chain Manager, you will own the strategy and execution behind how materials, components, equipment, and external manufacturing services move through Fourier.
This is not a transactional purchasing role. You will operate at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, finance, and operations to ensure our teams have what they need—at the right quality, cost, and lead time—to accelerate development and commercialization.
You will help establish sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, procurement systems, inventory discipline, and supply resilience as we scale from development builds into production.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys moving between strategy and execution, and wants to help build the operating backbone of a category-defining climate hardware company.
Own end-to-end sourcing and procurement for direct materials, components, tooling, equipment, and contract manufacturing services for full and partial systems
Build and execute category strategies across mechanical, electrical, fabricated, and long-lead components
Develop robust multi-sourcing frameworks for critical or high-risk parts, ensuring supply continuity through proactive risk mitigation and contingency planning
Lead RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, negotiations, and contracting activities
Develop cost models and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supplier agreements
Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage suppliers domestically and internationally
Establish supplier scorecards across quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost
Drive supplier performance improvements and corrective actions when necessary
Proactively identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies including alternate sourcing and inventory planning
Collaborate with Engineering to drive DFM and DFSC initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions from early prototyping through pilot and full-scale manufacturing
Translate BOMs and build plans into purchasing and material readiness plans
Drive long-lead procurement planning and inventory strategies
Manage purchase orders, supplier schedules, delivery commitments, and escalations
Direct international freight and customs strategy, ensuring compliance across global logistics networks for cross-border electrolyzer hardware procurement
Build scalable procurement processes, controls, and reporting
Establish procurement KPIs and dashboards across spend, delivery, lead time, shortages, and supplier performance
Partner with Finance to improve forecasting, budgeting, and operational planning
Help define the future supply chain organization as Fourier grows
6+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, manufacturing operations, or related functions
Experience supporting hardware, industrial, energy, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, robotics, climate tech, or other complex physical products
Demonstrated success sourcing technical components and managing supplier relationships
Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing suppliers through ambiguity and growth
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and procurement workflows
Strong analytical skills with comfort working in spreadsheets and operational data
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across technical and business teams
Experience supporting NPI and scaling products into production
Familiarity with electrolyzers, energy systems, industrial equipment, manufacturing systems, or capital equipment
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing requirements
Experience with should-cost analysis, make vs. buy decisions, and total cost of ownership frameworks
Experience building supply chain processes from the ground up in an early-stage environment
You operate with agency and ownership
You move with urgency and know when speed matters
You can zoom from supplier negotiations into strategic planning
You build systems instead of creating dependency
You enjoy solving messy operational problems and turning them into repeatable processes
You care deeply about execution and follow-through
You’ll join a small, high-caliber team working on one of the most important infrastructure transitions of our generation. You’ll have the opportunity to build foundational supply chain capability, influence how we scale, and help bring distributed hydrogen production into reality.
If building from zero to one excites you—we’d love to talk.
