Principal Software Architect

OVERVIEW:
A newly created position for a Salesforce Architect is a crucial role to enable our employees and customers in a more productive and cohesive way. This role will ensure we are maximizing our ongoing investment in our IT platforms and strategic roadmap.
As the Salesforce Architect, you will be responsible for ensuring all new and existing solutions enable our business to solve complex operational challenges by reducing friction and complexity within our business processes. Your solutions will be comprehensive and support upstream and downstream data needs which are foundational to support our growing business. Best practices must be shared first as a starting point to any design and roadmap considerations.
This role will enable us to take full advantage of the capabilities provided within Salesforce by setting the vision for the future use of this suite of products. This will involve developing a roadmap for Salesforce products and Salesforce’s partner products through coordination with the wider business and technology teams by promoting Salesforce capabilities throughout the organization.
OPPORTUNITY HIGHLIGHTS:
- Lead Salesforce architecture and technical team; design, create and enhance application architecture and assist our business to shape their architectural vision and roadmap.
- Create Proof of Concepts and Technical solutioning session with our business to help them understand the proposed solution. Drive solution meetings with our internal business partners.
- Understands user stories and can provide accurate work estimates and can explain dependencies to our technical delivery teams.
- Work in a consultative fashion to improve communication, collaboration, and alignment amongst teams inside and outside of the organization.
- Stay current on Salesforce releases, new features and product roadmaps.
- Works closely with stakeholders to align the Strategic Roadmap and goals, requirements and details on levers of value creation.
- Has the ability to balance technical acumen, business process acumen and requirements understanding to achieve the best business outcome.
- Works hand in hand with scrum team to understand the overall health of the product (progression of features, key milestones, track targeted timeline, mitigate risks, etc.).
- Engaged in product delivery releases - Approves release (UAT, pipeline approvals, Prod validation, etc.).
- Interfaces regularly with stakeholders, end users, business analysts, program and portfolio teams.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Should have a minimum of 3+ years experience with Salesforce CPQ required.
- Minimum of 5 years of Salesforce experience as Solution/Technical Architect.
- You will have experience working in a global organization, successfully promoting, and improving the use of Salesforce across our business while being focused on opportunities to simplify, optimize and automate all core business processes where possible.
- You should have experience in carrying out requirement analysis, business process optimization and business process re-engineering using Salesforce capabilities in order to standardize and simplify business operations.
- You should have detailed knowledge of Agile Methodologies building and deploying reports, interfaces, add-ins, and customizations for on-demand software.
- Self-motivated individual with strong, proven, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional resources and work well in a globally distributed remote environment.
- Must be able to take the lead on and help in problem solving and respond immediately to urgent situations.
- Experience working on/with an Agile Team.
- Experience with Customer Journey / Experience Mapping as it relates to Salesforce.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and presentation skills).
- Experience working with multiple business stakeholders for planning solutions and delivery.
- Proficient in the use of analytics tools and Jira.
- Knowledge of user-centered design principles and design quality standards.
- Knowledge or certification as a Sales Cloud Consultant, CPQ Consultant, Application Solution Architect.
- Knowledge of Marketing Cloud a plus but not required.
- Experience with Lightning Components and AppExchange products with working technical knowledge of Force.com platform (i.e. Visualforce, Apex, Web Services, related applications)
- Experience consolidating instances of Salesforce and other legacy CRM systems into Salesforce preferred.
- Knowledge and experience integrating Salesforce with middleware products such as Workato and or Mulesoft.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field and/or equivalent work experience required.
