Role Description: Principal Public Relations - EMEA


Role Purpose: 


As Wasabi expands our presence across Europe, we are seeking an experienced and resourceful Public Relations Lead to join our award-winning corporate communications team, named by PR Week US as the Most Outstanding In-House Team 2024. The EMEA Public Relations Lead will be a key player in shaping and executing Wasabi's PR strategy across the EMEA region. This role requires deep understanding of the technology sector, strong media relations skills, and the ability to craft compelling narratives that enhance Wasabi's brand reputation. You will need to collaborate closely with senior executives and regional stakeholders to bring business goals to life through PR.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic PR Planning:Develop and activate a robust PR strategy for EMEA that aligns with Wasabi’s corporate goals and also addresses regional dynamics. This includes maintaining Wasabi’s EMEA news and events calendar and executing effective PR support. 
  • Corporate Communications: As a member of the corporate communications team, provide timely, regional business and market insight to corporate team to enhance Wasabi’s global comms strategies, policies, and processes. Localize corporate initiatives for the EMEA region. 
  • Media and Analyst Relations: Maintain strong relationships with media contacts across EMEA. Pitch stories, secure media coverage, and manage EMEA press inquiries to enhance Wasabi's media presence and reputation. Support regional analyst relations activity as needed. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Position yourself as a strategic partner with key stakeholders, including Wasabi EMEA’s GM and its Marketing Director, to translate core regional business objectives into effective storytelling. 
  • Agency Management: Manage Wasabi’s EMEA PR agency, effectively sharing corporate information and driving media placements, proactivity, and creativity. Ensure all deliverables are met in a timely manner. 
  • Global collaboration: Collaborate with other internal teams, likesocial media, product, channel, and executive leadership, to influence in-region strategies. 
  • Measurement and Reporting: Oversee regular reporting for the region and provide analysis on the effectiveness of PR campaigns and performance. Use data to inform PR strategies.

Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of experience in public relations, with a strong background in technology or SaaS sectors. PR agency experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Communications or a similar field. 
  • Proven track record of securing consistent and impactful media coverage in the EMEA region. 
  • Proficiency in PR tools and platforms for media monitoring and analytics, such as Cision, Meltwater, Qwoted, and others. 
  • Ability to partner collaboratively with key stakeholders across business functions.
  • Can effectively measure PR outcomes and communicate its value to key EMEA stakeholders.
  • Prior influencer/analyst relations experience a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
