The Role
We're looking for a Principal Data Scientist who is passionate about solving complex problems using AI, machine learning, statistical modeling, and experimentation. As a senior member of the data science team, you will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to shape the next generation of Session AI’s intelligence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the research, advanced analytics, and feature engineering efforts across AI/ML applications.
- Design and develop experiments for machine learning models and statistical algorithms to drive product and customer insights.
- Translate complex analytics, performance metrics, observations and findings into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with leadership, product managers and engineers to explore innovative ideas and lead AI initiatives.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices in data science and advanced analytics.
- Stay up to date with the latest in AI/ML research.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- String analytical skills.
- Deep knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning, time-series forecasting, clustering, and recommendation systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python (preferred) with experience using libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, etc.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues and doing root-cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical content to diverse audiences.
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
