About the Role: Platform Software Engineer

The Team: The selected candidate will be part of the S&P Global Technology’s Cloud & Platform team and thereby provide support in the design, development of automations and software programs enabling the adoption of DTS multi-cloud offerings. 

Responsibilities and Impact: The candidate will be responsible for automation of use cases to provide abstraction across multi clouds (Private & Public), as applications move to AWS & On-prem Cloud. In this role you will have responsibilities including design, develop and implementation of Cloud Infrastructure use cases and build SPGI specific app stacks that can be deployed on on-prem (Private cloud) and Public Clouds.

As a Software Engineer, the following will be part of your responsibilities. 

  • Provides Cloud Automation development advice and guidance related to all of our activities including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and projects, plans, and reviews. 

  • Drive Stabilization of Cloud Orchestration Platform 

  • Identify and Drive Automation use cases for Cloud adoption. 

  • Explore Industry tools and products to manage with ease a multi account AWS environment. 

  • Identify and implement automated container strategy and abstraction for hybrid clouds. 

  • Coordinates with segment architects to ensure new cloud services are certified for SPGI standards and enable automation code (YAML or similar) for service consumption. 

  • Acts as point of contact for infrastructure teams in the plan, design, and delivery of IT automation solutions. 

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in technology/information management, engineering or related field required 

  • Hands on knowledge on one of the config management tools preferably Puppet, Chef or Ansible.

  • Experience developing highly fault tolerant software systems. 

  • Functional understanding of the DevSecOPS model.
