Leads the People Operations team and manages the complete employee lifecycle, including HRMS administration, payroll support, compliance, performance and compensation cycles, policy governance, grievances, reporting, engagement, and cross-functional coordination. The role requires hands-on HR operations leadership, Indian labour-law knowledge, HR reporting skills, and practical use of AI tools such as Claude.
About the Role
Techdome is a fast-growing Product Venture. As People Operations Manager, you'll lead the People Operations team and own the full employee lifecycle — from onboarding to exit — while driving HRMS management, payroll, compliance, performance cycles, and policy governance for a scaling tech organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the People Operations team, guiding day-to-day execution, delegating effectively, and building team capability.
- Own end-to-end employee lifecycle operations: onboarding, confirmations, transfers, and exit/offboarding formalities.
- Maintain and administer the HRMS/HRIS (Keka preferred), employee records, and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Administer attendance, leave, and time-tracking; support end-to-end payroll processing in coordination with finance.
- Drive the performance management cycle — goal-setting, appraisals, calibration — and coordinate salary hikes/increments and compensation reviews.
- Ensure statutory and labour-law compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, professional tax, related filings) and own grievance resolution with discretion, fairness, and timely closure.
- Create new HR policies and update existing ones, along with SOPs, HR letters, and the employee handbook.
- Support employee engagement activities, events, and internal communications.
- Serve as an escalation point for employee queries on policies, benefits, and processes.
- Generate People Ops reports and dashboards (headcount, attrition, onboarding TAT) for leadership.
- Coordinate with recruitment, finance, and IT for smooth pre- and post-joining processes.
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., Claude) to streamline HR documentation, reporting, and process efficiency.
- 3–8 years of experience in HR operations, HR generalist, or HR shared-services roles (IT/tech industry preferred), including experience leading or supervising a team.
- Proven end-to-end HR operations ownership across the full employee lifecycle.
- Hands-on HRMS experience is mandatory — Keka strongly preferred; other platforms (Zoho People, Darwinbox, GreytHR, etc.) acceptable if Keka exposure isn't available.
- Experience creating new HR policies and updating existing ones is mandatory.
- Payroll processing support is mandatory.
- Performance appraisal cycle and compensation/hike management experience is mandatory.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, and grievance management.
- Practical experience using AI tools (such as Claude) in HR work is mandatory.
- Strong MS Excel / Google Sheets skills and comfort with HR reporting.
- Excellent communication, discretion, and organizational skills.
- Exposure to a high-growth or startup environment.
- Familiarity with L&D coordination and employee engagement program design.
A people-first, hands-on leader who can manage a team while staying close to execution — balancing process, compliance, and empathy, driving performance and compensation cycles fairly, and using modern AI tools to work smarter in a fast-paced, growing organization.
