As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Risk Team aligned to Corporate Technology, you play a crucial role in an agile team. Your responsibilities include enhancing, creating, and delivering reliable, top-tier technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a key technical contributor, you will be tasked with delivering critical technology solutions across various technical areas within different business functions. You will work alongside existing product teams, influencing senior stakeholders across the bank. Your team's goal is to develop systems that facilitate data storage and usage both on-site and in the cloud, generating value through analytics, machine learning, and operations. Your role extends beyond supporting the on-site HDP Big Data cluster, as you will also be instrumental in designing and implementing the data lake in the public cloud.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal Training or certification in software application with 5+ years of applied experience
- Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Advance knowledge of Apache Spark, Scala, Java, Spring, Python
- Design, develop, deliver, innovate and own software in the cloud
- Develop engineering capabilities that advance big data and cloud adoption
- Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
- Working proficiency in developmental toolsets. Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices. Passionate about building an innovative culture
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Play SME role for application development teams to help Cloud, Big Data, Data Lake and Machine Learning application modernization
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Cloud Certifications(AWS, Azure or GCP) would be a big plus
- Familiarity and experience working with JPMC internal software development frameworks, platforms and tools like Photon, Moneta, GKP, LogA and Jules would be a big plus.
