We are looking for a talented Lead / Senior Platform/Backend Engineer with a strong background in Python development, database management (MongoDB, PostgreSQL), API design and implementation, as well as experience with gRPC and JSON/RPC protocols. The ideal candidate will have at least 7-14 years of experience in backend development and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems. 

What is the Lead / Senior Software Engineer responsible for?

  • Senior Software Engineer Provides expertise and experience in application development and production support activities to support business needs. Refactors the codebase of applications and reviews source code of peers. Resolves and identifies root cause for unique production issues. Lead Software Engineer Provides expertise, experience, and technical leadership for application design/development and production support activities to support business needs. Leads the definition of software design, development, and integration, and production support of highly complex issues. Mentors and develops more junior engineers #MID_SENIOR_LEVEL

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Lead / Senior Software Engineer?

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Investment platform using Python and related technologies. 

  • Architect and implement APIs for seamless integration with tenant applications and other external platforms. 

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 

  • Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity across SQL and NoSQL databases. 

  • Implement and maintain gRPC and JSON/RPC protocols for efficient communication between microservices. 

  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to deploy and monitor backend services in production environments. 

  • Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and provide technical guidance to ensure code quality and best practices. 

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in platform development to continuously improve our platform. 

  • Provide accurate estimates for user story completion

 What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 

  • 7-14 years of experience in backend development using Python. 

  • Proficiency in database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL. 

  • Strong understanding of API design principles and experience with building RESTful APIs. 

  • Experience with gRPC and JSON/RPC protocols for inter-service communication. 

  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. 

  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proven track record of working in cross-functional teams. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities. 

Other Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field. 

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Experience with tools like Apache Airflow and other opensource standard products. 

Work Shift Timings - 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST
