Lead Infrastructure Engineer - Hadoop

As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Chief Technology office team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities

• Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope
• Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies
• Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes
• Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
• Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on Infrastructure Engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
• Hands on streaming data applications with data pipeline open source products, and experience in Hadoop data platform; strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills are essential
• Collaborate with line of business users and technology teams to design, develop, and test full stack cloud data solutions.
• Lead and ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions.
• Drive innovation, conduct proof of concept, and implement cutting-edge technologies.
• Serve as an expert practitioner in one or more technology domains, solving complex and mission-critical problems.
• Design, analyze, develop, test, debug, and deliver software enhancements and new products.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• Familiar with Linux systems.
• Hadoop application development and support.
• Proficient in managing Hadoop distributions (e.g., Hortonworks, Cloudera) and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Hadoop cluster connectivity, security, and permissions.
• Familiar in Java, Python, and shell scripting.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, with experience in cross-functional teams.
