As a lead DevOps engineer, you will drive continuous service reliability improvement across HERE engineering community. In addition, you will:• Identify areas for optimization and automation, focused on service reliability, stability, and throughput, implementing good DevOps practices and tools. • Work closely with development and operations teams, requiring excellent communication and collaboration skills, being able to bridge the gap between different teams and align them towards common goals, provide technical leadership and guidance on DevOps reliability practices and principles. • Interact with different sets of stakeholders, like product managers/owners, developers, and system engineers, the ability to understand their needs and manage expectations is essential.• Leads discussions to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem• Sets best practices for incremental testing actions on code using a test driven approach where possible (TDD)• Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for different areas within team• Drives and demonstrates group code review• Leads triage efforts when escalation occurs within team
Who are you?You are a go-getter, with an eye for detail, strong problem-solving, a bachelor’s degree in a technical field, and have the following:
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) - vpc, ec2, emr, lambda, cloudwatch , cloudtrail, VPC endpoint, RDS , s3, route53, SNS, ECS, EKS
- 8 to 12 years of experience in relevant software or internet service industry with a service operations background supporting high availability environments.
- At least 5 years as a SRE / DevOps / Senior Systems Engineer with experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Infrastructure code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform and Ansible
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads
- Experience with Java and/or Python and Go languages for script development and automations
- Deep understanding of the GNU/Linux operating system
- TCP/IP, Ethernet networks, physical and logical network design, implementation and operation
- Understanding of filesystem operation (e.g. ext3, xfs) and LVM
- Sets and drives best practices for a micro-service architecture in an always-up, always-available service
- Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
- Extensive knowledge of Security best-practices in a containerized or cloud-based Architecture
