Lead BI Engineer (Power BI)

Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced BI Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Power BI development and management, SQL, Microsoft Fabric/Azure DevOps with a focus on creating and maintaining management dashboards. The BI Engineer will work closely with senior leadership team members to design, develop, and implement impactful data visualization solutions that support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, support, and maintain automated business intelligence products, ensuring they align with business goals.
• Rapidly design, develop, and implement reporting applications that incorporate KPI metrics and actionable insights into the operational, tactical, and strategic activities of key business functions.
• Identify business requirements, design processes that leverage/adapt the business logic, and regularly communicate with business stakeholders to ensure delivery meets business needs.
• Design and code business intelligence projects using tools like Power BI, Tableau and Microsoft Fabric, ensuring robust end-to-end architecture.
• Develop dashboards and data sources that meet and exceed customer requirements, ensuring seamless integration with underlying data infrastructure.
• Partner with business information architects and product owners to understand business use cases that support and fulfill business and data strategy.
• Work collaboratively in an agile environment with cross-functional teams, providing best practices for data visualization, Tableau, and Power BI implementations.
• Contribute to the design and development of solution architectures, including participation in RFI/RFP response solution design, customer presentations, demonstrations, and POCs.
• Leverage DevOps principles, including Azure DevOps, for continuous integration and deployment of BI solutions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Power BI development, with a demonstrated proficiency in using Power BI and related technologies.
• Certification in Power BI or related tools is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of SQL, with experience in DevOps (Azure DevOps) and Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience in end-to-end architecture design and implementation, with a strong ability to work independently and manage projects from concept to delivery.
• Basic understanding of programming languages, with experience in SAQL, SOQL, Python, or R as a plus.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and show initiative in applying them effectively.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
