Description

The Java Engineer will contribute to the full software development life cycle of existing core services and help manage integration of new services as they are built. They will work closely with and report directly to the Chief Technology Officer (based in Singapore).

The ideal candidate will have had prior experience with distributed systems and designing applications at scale. They should feel comfortable with best practices for Spring and Kafka.

Required Skills

2-4+ years of experience with Java - we use 21
Strong understanding of the Spring framework
Strong understanding of OOP
Experience with Docker
Experience with Maven
Strong understanding of either SQL or NoSQL databases - we use both but only expect the candidate to come in with strong experience with one
Experience with CICD pipelines - we use bitbucket pipelines
Ability to work across Linux/UNIX platforms

Preferred Skills

Experience working on Agile projects
Experience working with globally distributed remote teams
Experience with distributed systems
Experience designing applications for financial institutions
Experience developing packages for consumption by other developers
