Candidature Requirements:

We are looking for a Junior Java Developer with 4+ years of experience to join our development team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java backend development, with good knowledge of building scalable and reliable applications. Experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture will be preferred. The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work effectively within an Agile development environment.

Areas of responsibility:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based backend applications.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend services.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate applications with internal and external systems.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable Java code.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application issues across development and production environments.
• Work closely with architects, developers, business analysts, testers, and other stakeholders to deliver quality solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Perform unit testing and contribute to automated testing practices.
• Support application deployment and production releases as required.
• Identify performance, scalability, and reliability improvements within backend applications.
• Research and adopt relevant technologies, tools, and development practices.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Must-have requirements:

• 4+ years of professional experience in Java development.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Good understanding of Spring / Spring Boot.
• Experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git and standard software development practices.
• Good understanding of exception handling, logging, debugging, and performance considerations.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong ownership and accountability with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred / Good-to-have requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
• Understanding of Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, and consumer groups.
• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous architectures.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases.
• Experience with messaging systems or other distributed event-streaming technologies.
• Exposure to automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
