The role involves developing and executing functional and database test cases, conducting end-to-end testing, and collaborating with teams to ensure software quality.
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced QA professional with a deep understanding of functional and database testing. This role is crucial in ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of enterprise-grade software systems. You'll be validating everything from business workflows to backend data transformations—keeping quality at the core of delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute functional test cases based on user stories and business requirements
- Conduct end-to-end testing for web, mobile, and desktop applications
- Create and execute SQL-based database tests to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and performance
- Validate complex database objects like stored procedures, triggers, and functions
- Perform ETL testing and validate data migrations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Developers, and DBAs
- Log and track defects using tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or ServiceNow
- Maintain detailed test artifacts: plans, scripts, cases, and datasets
- Participate in reviews of functional specs and design documents for testability
- Implement automated database testing scripts wherever feasible
- Support regression and UAT cycles, preparing summaries for stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to QA standards, with occasional contributions to performance testing
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in functional and database testing.
- Strong in writing complex SQL queries, including joins and subqueries.
- Experience with any relational database such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Skilled in manual testing, defect tracking, and test documentation.
- Familiarity with tools like TestRail, Quality Center, or Zephyr (or similar).
- Experience with Jira, Bugzilla, or ServiceNow.
- Good understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
- Knowledge on Automation using T-SQL or PL/SQL, ETL testing
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
