Business Unit Overview:
The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is critical to our strategy for profitable growth. The team shapes long-term objectives for growth and scale; guides near-term objectives, resource allocations, and budgets; analyzes business metrics to identify growth and scale opportunities; and brings insights to help successfully manage our financial objectives amidst a dynamic business environment. We are at the center of the firm, working across all levels of BlackRock to provide both a broad and deep understanding of the firm’s financial position and opportunities.
Role Description
The FI&A team operates with a Center of Excellence (CoE) model and is responsible for efficient, thoughtful, and scalable production to meet operational excellence, deliver high-value business insights through front-end visualization tools, application of modelling and analytics to generate new insights at scale, engage with technology partners to accelerate data and process transformation. The group is also responsible for engaging with business partners to advise and offer expertise on the fundamental building blocks of how we manage the firm and report our financials.
As part of the FI&A Team, the individual will be an inspiring leader with the ability to articulate and deliver business insights and reporting for the Firm Reporting & Analytics team. This person will be a strong critical thinker with the ability to challenge perceived norms and drive forward key CoE priorities, including the G&A and Compensation forecast, budget, and analytics.
Key responsibilities:
Lead a high-performing team, providing mentorship and clear direction to drive excellence.
Collaborate with business managers and leaders to manage G&A forecast and budget.
Build financial models and manage existing models to drive expense reporting at scale.
Manage the expense reporting for businesses to drive transparency of spend to budget targets.
Operate with accuracy and tight deadlines for production and reporting activities.
Assist with ad-hoc requests and new reporting requirements.
Strong understanding of different data sources, data types, and act as an SME for expenses.
Establish and run a strong quality control framework for outputs and activities.
Identify efficiency opportunities and support transformation initiatives.
Drive automation and dashboarding for managing reporting and processes at scale.
Hands-on in executing the key priorities along with the people manager responsibilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners and other Finance teams.

Skills & Qualifications:
CA or MBA, with strong commercial mindset and proven experience (10+ years) in the financial services or technology sector, preferably at a premier asset manager, banking, or innovative technology organization with FP&A experience preferred.
Experience managing a large expense base, with proven track record for interpreting complex data and translating it into clear, actionable insights.
Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications; advanced excel and modelling skills.
Strong command of data analytics, financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning.
Experience with IBM Cognos TM1 and visualization tools a plus (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau).
Meticulous, strategic thinker with operational rigor and analytical/data-driven mindset.
Ability to articulate and present ideas both written presentations and orally to senior management.
Demonstrated team leadership ability.
Demonstrated experience in leading automation and transformation efforts.
Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
Collaborative, service-oriented, and solutions-oriented.
Ability to deliver in fast paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands.
High levels of self-motivation, multi-task and willingness to respectfully challenge the status quo.
