Abbott’s EMEA Finance Shared Services centre commenced operations in Cherrywood, Dublin in October 2015. From this location the Finance Shared Services provides processing and expertise, in local languages, to Abbott divisions and affiliate companies across EMEA. The core services are in Record to Report, Order to Cash, Source to Pay and Master data management. The Financial Shared Services hub is part of Corporate Finance (CFS) and has regional counterparts in the US and in Singapore.
We are currently recruiting a CFS Digital Transformation Manager to be based in Dublin, responsible for advancing the global Intelligent Automation strategy and roadmap, in alignment with the company’s overall digital strategy and CFS goals. This is primarily achieved through our Robotics program, to support the implementation of digital solutions driven by intelligent automation. The Digital Transformation Manager will be focused on identifying fit-for-purpose digital solutions to implement process and operational efficiency across the CFS organisation in collaboration with Business Technology Services.
What you’ll do:
- Provide oversight to the program to deliver Robotic Process Automation (RPA) unattended solutions with the clear goal to drive a return of investment. This is primarily based on the automation of tasks from colleagues to be performed by the robotic solutions.
- Provide oversight and continually improve the business processes to manage RPA development and support of activity for active bots, to include strategic planning (regional and global projects), pipeline development, project management as well as technical oversight to ensure solutions are scalable and maintainable and offer support/maintenance through ServiceNow tickets, for timely issue resolution.
- Provide training and guidance to CFS colleagues to facilitate high quality Business Requirement Documents (BRD), test plans and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Provide business input and prioritisation to the monthly Sprint Planning process as well as effective reporting e.g. monthly bot performance, ServiceNow tickets, Project plan status etc. and cost management/reconciliation.
- Support incremental Robotics Desktop Automation (RDA) / Citizen Developers attended solutions, with clear capacity savings identified and a translation into clear ROI.
- Assess the effectiveness of the RDA program, citizen developers and to report out on this effectiveness on a quarterly basis.
- Enable operational management (and ownership) of the Digital Workers as part of the CFS Virtual Hub, to include training and licence allocation and to coordinate, support and drive the RDA Academy to grow the number of Citizen Developers.
- Conduct benchmarking/technology fore-sighting to explore new developments in automation.
- Advance the automation toolkit through identification and selection of new automation tools, considering effectiveness, efficiency and improved customer experience etc.
- Investigate potential new solutions and technologies and provide insights on technology trends to solve process issues and pain points. To then work closely with key stakeholders to build a business case for investment.
- Champion digital transformation tools with global CFS organisation, promote any opportunities to use technology to solve problems and encourage innovative ideas to be used across CFS.
- Lead a small cross functional team of employees and contractors, for project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting of projects.
- Develop implementation plans, conduct risk assessments, and develop contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events.
- Manage resources effectively, including tools, software, and any external support needed for the project.
- Prepare and present project progress reports and track budgets. Identify problems, their resolution, trends, and their impact on project success, and propose recommendations for action.
What you’ll need:
- Experience in large multinational companies as Digital Transformation Manager/Specialist, Business Process Excellence, project management or Product Owner roles.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with a digital background, related to business processes/services, with the ability to identify and establish business cases for new digital technologies.
- Lean/Six Sigma/Business Process evaluation experience.
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., RPA tools like UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere) would be beneficial.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) to manage complex projects. Experience with the platform, JIRA, for issue and tracking of user stories and sprints will be an advantage.
- Proven experience in process evaluation and re-engineering within finance operations.
- Experience delivering business change in areas such as Digital/Technology/Process implementations, transformation using Business Intelligence, data analytics, and visualization tools, Robotic Process Automation, AI, and other emerging technologies.
- Ideally prior leadership experience, with a proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Highly developed facilitation and negotiation skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and develop win-win relationships in cross-functional, highly collaborative initiatives.
- A track record of driving projects and programs, with experience in driving process reviews and re-engineering projects to deliver process efficiency.
- To be a strategic thinker with the ability to translate strategy, vision, and long-term goals into practical targets and objectives, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- An understanding of the finance and accounting technology landscape and key trends in this space.
- Experience in funding/investment opportunities and building business cases to support the strategy roadmap.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
