Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and motivated Node.js Backend Developer with 3 years of professional experience to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for developing robust, scalable, and high-performance backend services and APIs that power our platform. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in Node.js, a solid understanding of SQL databases, and is eager to contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- API Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality RESTful APIs using Node.js and frameworks like Express.js.
- Database Management: Work with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) including schema design, optimization, and writing complex queries.
- System Architecture: Collaborate with frontend developers and other stakeholders to define, design, and ship new features.
- Testing and Quality: Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code. Implement unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system reliability.
- Maintenance and Optimization: Troubleshoot and debug production issues, and optimize existing systems for maximum speed and scalability.
- Code Review: Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality standards and share knowledge within the team.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in backend development using Node.js.
- Node.js Expertise: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and hands-on experience with Node.js and common libraries/frameworks.
- SQL Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of relational databases, including schema design, data modeling, and advanced SQL querying (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to producing quality code.
Good to Have (Preferred Qualifications & Skills)
- NestJS: Prior experience with the NestJS framework is a significant plus.
- NoSQL Databases: Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis) and when to use them versus SQL solutions.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Containerization: Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
