Application Development Associate Advisor - HIH - Evernorth
Position Overview
This role involves hands-on software development and support for Cigna’s Reinsurance business, focusing on data management, reporting, and financial modeling. You’ll be part of a of a diverse cross-functional IT team and work across on-premises and AWS cloud platforms, supporting complex data pipelines, application logic, and large-scale compute modeling. Direct collaboration with business and IT partners is essential.
Responsibilities
· Develop full-stack applications using Microsoft technologies.
· Maintain and enhance existing software for functionality and compatibility.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to solution delivery.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
· Engage in web development, database design, API development, and cloud integration.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
• Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Blazor, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Experience with Python, and VB.NET (including migration to C#).
• Strong server-side development and API design using .NET and Node.js.
• Solid understanding of cloud computing and AWS services.
• Expertise in SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Agile development experience using Jira.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with C++
• Experience with SSRS, SSIS, SSAS.
• Familiarity with AWS SDK, Lambda, S3, SQS, and Step Functions.
• Background with GitHub and DevOps and CI/CD pipeline support.
Required Experience & Education:
• 8+ years of experience
• College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience.
Desired Experience:
• Exposure to AWS
• Knowledge of Variable Annuities
