Bhanzu has secured $16.5 million in Series B funding, according to a LinkedIn post from the edtech company. The funding round was led by Epiq Capital, but also saw participation from Z3Partners along with existing investors Lightspeed Ventures and Eight Roads.
Headquartered in Hyderabad, Bhanzu delivers live online math sessions for learners in more than a dozen countries. Its classes are designed to help students at a variety of ages master math fundamentals and build their skills and confidence over time. Bhanzu Buddy is the company’s AI-powered math assistant, which can engage users via chat and provide feedback tailored to support each student’s progress.
Bhanzu plans to use its new capital to broaden its presence in the United States and advance its teaching methodologies. The Economic Times also reported Bhanzu plans to put funding toward expanding its generative AI capabilities.
“We are excited to partner with Bhanzu and the team in their journey to revolutionize math education in the U.S., India and globally,” Epiq Capital partner Chinmay Katdare said in a statement.
